Mama D’s Rib Rub

The name Mama D was given to me by my daughter-in-love back in 2008 and out of the love of cooking and becoming a self-taught cook at the early age of 12, the name stuck and has been used ever since. I love to experiment with all types of foods and seasonings to create different dishes.

From the love of cooking, I would mix different spices and various samples resulted from just mixing some of this and some of that. As time went by, my children took an interest in watching me mix dishes together and adding my special touches to come up with different flavors.

By accident, we hosted a cookout and from that cookout the birth of the “Rib Rub” came about. There were so many rave reviews on how tasty the ribs turned out. I took it as a kind compliment until one day my children, siblings, and nephews wanted the recipe to my rib rub.

Years went by and one of my sons who was so instrumental in launching this project, asked me to recreate the original recipe. I decided to follow his instructions but did nothing with it. As I looked back in the notebook dated in 2013, there it was, “Rib Rub”. He was so surprised that I had written it down and included the measurements and who was present at that time. Here we are today, launching Mama D’s Rib Rub and other various flavors.

We are family oriented and always enjoy the times when we come together over good food, fun, and laughter. Mama D’s seasonings can help inspire every meal and wake up any bland dish because it was created from the heart and the love of cooking.
